Equestrian statue of King Władysław II Jagiełło in Krakow, in the I District of the Old Town, on Jan Matejko Square, erected in 1910 from the foundation of Ignacy Jan Paderewski, designed by Antoni Wiwulski and Franciszek Black on the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald, demolished in 1939 by the Germans, reconstructed in 1976 according to the design of Marian Konieczny. In front of the monument is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The monument is 24 meters high, on the top of the pedestal a statue of King Władysław Jagiełło was placed. With the left hand, the king holds the horse's bridle, and in the right the sword is drawn down. In the reconstructed monument by prof. Marian Konieczny, slightly different, the figure of King Władysław Jagiełło rides a horse. At the Grunwald Monument of Antoni Wiwulski from 1910, the king was sitting in the saddle, his knees bent. In the reconstruction of the monument to prof. Marian Konieczny - legs straightened, as if he were standing in stirrups. According to the artist - the constructor of the monument, this approach to the figure of the king better reflects the dynamics of the figure of the king operating the sword. The stairs leading to the monument include a marble slab of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The monument's base was made of granite imported from Sweden. The French company Malleset undertook the casting of figures.
