Tarnów Castle, the residence of the owners of Tarnów and the administrative center of the Tarnów estate. Its ruins are located on a slope (303 m a.s.l.) Martin. Built in the years 1328–1331 by Spicymir of the Leliwa coat of arms, the Kraków castellan on a hill divided into two parts by a ditch in a distance of about 2 kilometers from the city of Tarnów located in 1330. The human skeletons found under the ruins indicate that originally the first Tarnów church could stand in this place. On the lower part of the hill there was a small farm - economic and administrative facilities (seat of the burgrave or staroste), and on the higher part a high castle, i.e. a fortified residence. Both parts were surrounded by a separate wall. In total, they had about 2000 sq m. Therefore, it was one of the largest magnate castles in Poland in the Middle Ages, which received attributes reserved so far in the Polish lands for monarchs, such as the chapel and the cylindrical main tower. The buildings at the backyard were made of wood, and the high castle consisted of stone buildings adjacent to the perimeter wall and a cylindrical tower near the entrance from the inside.
