Address: Aleja Tysiąclecia 10 , 32-210 Książ Wielki

A magnificent Ordynacki residence built on a loess hill called "Mirów" about 600 meters from the market of the town of Książ Wielki to the east. The Myszkowski Palace is also called the Mirów castle to commemorate the town of Mirów in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland connected with the Myszkowski family nest. This object belongs to the first group of architectural monuments. The palace was built in 1585-95 by Piotr Myszkowski, bishop of Cracow, according to the design of the royal architect Santi Gucci from Florence. In its form, it refers to the designs of Italian rural palaces from the beginning of the 16th century with axial and symmetrical composition. The building is founded on a plan of an elongated rectangle oriented north-south, in the central part it has 2 projections. The palace was built of Pińczów stone, it has two floors and a basement. The basements and ground floor have Renaissance barrel vaults. The outer walls of the ground floor and first floor are faceted with rust, while the second is flat. Above the windows of the first floor, there are Renaissance cornices, each with a cartouche with the Myszkowski family coat of arms, Jastrzębiec. In the nineteenth century, the building was rebuilt into a neo-Gothic style, which gave the former palace its current form. On the longer axes of the assumption, projections were created crowned with attic and corner turrets. Originally, from the west side of the palace there was a large courtyard that passed into a park and forest area called Zwierzyniec. The palace is one of the monuments covered by the "Renaissance Trail in Lesser Poland" program implemented by the Villa Decius Association.
