A museum facility located in the former "Światowid" cinema in Nowa Huta on the estate Centrum E 1. It has existed since April 2008 and was financed by the Ministry of Culture as a Kraków branch of the Polish History Museum. From January 1, 2013 the museum was taken over by the City of Krakow. The main originators and animators of the establishment of the Museum of the PRL are Krystyna Zachwatowicz-Wajda - Chairwoman of the Program Council of the Museum of the PRL and Andrzej Wajda. The museum organized many exhibitions and educational events, including in November 2009, the Club of History Explorers at the Museum of the People's Republic of Poland started. The permanent exhibition of the Museum is interactive, using modern multimedia techniques.
