The village of Zalipie has long been known for its painted huts. The custom of decorating rural rooms with floral paintings originates from the late nineteenth century, when the villagers began to decorate the interiors of the cottages with flowers made of tissue paper, cutouts and straw spiders hanging on the flap and flowers painted on the walls. The paintings were also made on the outer walls of buildings, wells and fences. There are currently about 20 painted houses in Zalipie. Works of Zalipian artists can be admired, among others in the Farm of Felicja Curyłowa, which is now a branch of the District Museum in Tarnów and the House of Painters in Zalipie.
