Address: ul. Bernardyńska 46 , Kalwaria Zebrzydowska

Marian Passion Sanctuary Bernardines located in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska. The basilica and monastery belonging to the complex are located south of the city, at the top of the Żar mountain, south and east of them there are 42 chapels and pathway churches. It is often called Polish Jerusalem. In 1999, the sanctuary was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and on November 17, 2000 the building was declared a Monument of Polish History. The Calvary sanctuary is one of the most important places of passion and Marian worship - it combines the worship of both suffering Christ and the Mother of God. The guiding idea is to map the last way of Christ (Way of Capture and Way of the Cross). In the sanctuary there is a picture of Our Lady of Calvary. The church and monastery were built according to the design of the architect Jan Maria Bernardoni and the architect and goldsmith of the Flemish Paweł Baudarth, who erected almost all Calvary chapels. The basilica is a late Baroque building with Rococo elements. The interior is decorated with polychrome, antique stalls, richly inlaid furnishings and numerous paintings. The monastery is a three-storey building with five break-bastions, built around two closes (from 1603-1609 and 1654-1666) with baroque and rococo furnishings. The part closer to the church, with the well in the middle, is decorated with stucco decorations and portraits of the founders and benefactors of the monastery. The so-called. The Pilgrim Park consists of a set of churches and chapels with Baroque and Mannerist architecture, resembling various geometrical figures in a horizontal projection. They are integrated into the natural landscape and inspired by descriptions of the Holy Land Christian Adrichomius. From the south, the church and monastery are surrounded by a wall (1624) with two bastions transformed in 1747 for pastoral needs and the chapels of St. Anna and Our Lady of Sorrows. To the west there is a courtyard surrounded by farm buildings and a two-story gate with a mansard roof and a pavilion in the corner from the south.
